Foxlin Privacy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Foxlin handles information when you use the Foxlin iOS app and related in-app features. This policy applies to the app only.

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Overview

Foxlin is a vocabulary learning app that helps you create and practice flashcards and use optional AI-assisted features.

We try to keep data collection limited. Your app content is designed to stay on your device and, when enabled, in your Apple iCloud account. We do not require you to create a separate Foxlin account to use the app.

2. What We Collect

We collect only limited information that is reasonably necessary to operate Foxlin and related services.

  • Purchase and subscription information: limited App Store transaction, entitlement, trial, and subscription status received from Apple and RevenueCat to unlock paid features and restore access.
  • Analytics: limited pseudonymous technical and usage information processed through Firebase Analytics and associated with an automatically generated app-instance identifier.
  • Support communications: your email address and any information you choose to include when contacting us for support.

Your decks, flashcards, terms, translations, review history, practice progress, settings, and related app content are stored locally on your device and, if you enable Apple sync or backup features, may be stored in your Apple iCloud account. We do not operate a Foxlin account database for this content.

If you choose to use an AI-powered feature, only the prompt, text, language choices, or other content that you explicitly submit for that feature may be sent to OpenRouter and relevant model providers to generate a response. This does not happen automatically as part of ordinary app use, and Foxlin does not tie those requests to a separate Foxlin user account.

We do not use Firebase Analytics event parameters to send flashcard text, translations, local app settings, or AI prompt content.

Foxlin does not sell your personal information.

3. AI Features

AI features are optional. When you choose to generate or translate cards with AI, Foxlin sends only the request content you decide to submit to OpenRouter and relevant model providers so they can return a response.

AI service providers are third-party services we do not control. Their handling of submitted content is governed by their own policies and terms. Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential information, or information about other people unless you have the right to do so. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable, and you are responsible for reviewing generated or translated content before using it.

4. How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • provide and maintain Foxlin and its core functionality;
  • process AI requests only when you explicitly choose to submit content to an AI-powered feature;
  • manage subscriptions, premium access, trials, and purchase restoration;
  • measure app usage, improve reliability, and prioritize product improvements;
  • respond to support requests and service-related questions;
  • protect the app, users, and our services from abuse, fraud, or technical misuse.

Where the GDPR applies, Oleksandr Momotiuk is the data controller for the limited information described in this policy. Our legal bases are our legitimate interests, where permitted by law, in maintaining Foxlin, measuring basic product use, protecting the service, and responding to support requests; and performance of a contract or steps you request for purchases and optional AI features.

5. Third-Party Services

Foxlin may use third-party services that process information on our behalf or as part of the services you choose to use. These may include:

  • Apple and iCloud for platform services and for data that remains on your device or in your Apple iCloud account when Apple sync or backup features are enabled.
  • AIProxy and OpenRouter for optional AI-powered processing. If you use AI features, only the content you explicitly choose to submit for that feature may be sent through AIProxy, OpenRouter, and relevant model providers to generate a response.
  • RevenueCat for subscription and purchase infrastructure used to provide paid access.
  • Firebase Analytics for limited pseudonymous analytics and usage measurement. We do not provide Firebase Analytics with your name, email address, learning content, or AI request content.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies. Useful references include: Apple, OpenRouter, RevenueCat, and Firebase.

These providers may process information outside the EEA or the user's country under applicable contractual or other lawful transfer safeguards.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Purchases, subscriptions, trials, billing, cancellation, and refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and platform workflows. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We may receive limited purchase or entitlement status information from Apple and RevenueCat to unlock paid features, restore access, and manage premium access.

7. Data Retention

Learning content and settings stored locally on your device remain there until you delete them, reset app data, or remove the app. Data stored in your Apple iCloud account may remain there until you delete it through the app, your device, or Apple account settings.

Analytics data follows the retention period configured in Firebase and Google Analytics. Purchase records, AI service records, and other provider-managed records may be retained by the relevant providers according to their policies. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and meet applicable legal obligations.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can manage many data choices directly in the app or through iOS settings, including deleting app content, managing app permissions, managing iCloud data, and cancelling or managing App Store subscriptions.

Where applicable, you may request access to, correction or deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of personal information we control, object to processing, withdraw consent where consent is used, and complain to your local data protection authority. If you have a privacy-related request, contact us at luckybeansapps+foxlin@gmail.com.

9. Children

Foxlin is not directed to children below the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately through the app, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page and provide additional notice when required by law.
